Privacy Notice
Reneca is not open yet. Right now this website does two things with personal data: it keeps a waiting list, and it takes messages through the contact form. This notice explains both in plain English. When Reneca opens, a full privacy policy replaces it.
1. Who we are
Reneca is made by Rene Technology Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales and registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Rene Technology Ltd is the data controller for everything described here. Our company details and ICO registration are published on renetechnology.com. Write to us at hello@reneca.app.
2. The waiting list
What we keep:
- your email address;
- the fact that you ticked the consent box, the wording you agreed to (its version) and the date and time you ticked it;
- where you joined from: the page, or a short code in the link you followed, such as the name of an event.
Why: to email you when Reneca opens and, now and then before that, with news about it. Nothing else.
Lawful basis: your consent. The box is never pre-ticked, and we cannot add you without it.
Changing your mind: reply to any email we send, or write to hello@reneca.app, and we will remove you promptly. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
How long: until you unsubscribe, or twelve months after Reneca opens at the latest, whichever comes first.
3. The contact form
What we keep: your name, your email address, the topic you chose and your message.
Why: to read your message and reply to it.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us, and, where your message asks about working with us, the steps you ask us to take before any agreement.
How long: up to twelve months, then deleted.
Sending a message does not add you to the waiting list. The two are separate, and each has its own form.
4. Keeping the forms honest
To stop automated abuse, both forms record a hashed version of your IP address for one hour, after which it is deleted. It is not linked to your email address or your message.
5. Cookies
This site sets no cookies and asks for no cookie consent, because there is nothing to consent to. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views; it uses no cookies and does not identify you.
6. Who handles your data for us
A small number of providers help us run this site. Each handles only what its job needs.

Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, safeguards recognised by UK law apply, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement. We never sell personal data, and we share it with nobody else unless the law requires it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, withdraw consent, or receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable form. Using these rights is free. Email hello@reneca.app and we will answer within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to put things right first.
8. Age
Reneca is for people aged 16 and over. If someone younger has joined the waiting list, tell us and we will remove them.
9. Changes
This notice is replaced by a full privacy policy when Reneca opens. Until then, if it changes, the date and version at the top change with it.
